Day 1 - Saint Martin sur l’Oust –> Malestroit
Go to Saint Martin sur Oust and take possession of your barge (full description here). Start your navigation to the West, direction Malestroit. Halfway between the Brocéliande forest and the Gulf of Morbihan, Malestroit, nicknamed the Perle de L'Oust, will reveal its magnificent half-timbered houses, its narrow streets nestled in its medieval heart.
Every Friday in summer, free concerts in the city center liven up your evening!
Day 2 - Malestroit – navigation
Depending on the period of your trip, take advantage of the Malestroit market to stock up on fresh and local products, resume navigation towards Josselin. Along the meanders of the Canal, enjoy the calm of the navigation and the bucolic landscapes available to you.
Day 3 - Navigation – Josselin
Arrival at Josselin, an important stage on the route of the Dukes of Brittany. The history of the city is intimately linked to that of its castle which dominates the city. Flamboyant Gothic style, it offers a very interesting testimony to feudal and Renaissance architecture.
Included: Self-guided tour of the Château de Josselin and the gardens
Overlooking the Nantes-Brest canal, the Château de Josselin, home of the Rohan family for more than ten centuries, offers its visitors, in a spectacular contrast, to discover from the river its powerful medieval fortress architecture and, on the side of the city, its sumptuous facade entirely in sculpted granite.
Day 4 - Josselin – Sailing
Head back east this time to go up the canal. Along the meanders, do not hesitate to stop where you want, in the heart of nature, along the towpaths, flowered locks, Breton houses...
Day 5 - Navigation - Malestroit
Back in the pretty little city of character, we are preparing a gourmet discovery for you!
Included: In Malestroit - Introduction to the Breton galettes!
Come and have a good time with Franck, professional crepe maker, who will teach you the techniques and secrets to make a real Breton pancake. You will obviously end the initiation by tasting your galettes! To your bilig! (Child from 10 years old)
Day 6 - Sailing – La Gacilly
Departure of the navigation towards La Gacilly, a small town of character with natural charm, where many craftsmen have taken up residence, giving the place a unique atmosphere. Every summer, you will also discover a large open-air photo festival (the largest in Europe) completely free of charge: Peoples and Natures. You will also visit the botanical garden and the Yves Rocher spaces (native of the city): the surrounding fauna and the benefits of plants will no longer hold any secrets for you!
Day 7 - La Gacilly –> Ile au Pie
Slowly resume navigation to reach Ile au Pie. A geological curiosity, the site places a string of islands at the confluence of the Nantes-Brest canal and the Oust. In the middle of Brittany, it raises cliffs which make the landscape unique and transform it into a playground for active relaxation, on the trails, on the rock or on the water. This majestic site that you cross is approved as a Great Natural Site for 15 km. Enjoy a refreshing and serene stop along the shores of the island!
